Surprises

There have been some great finds recently. Which makes me want to shop more and in turn list less. That doesn't work very well. I will start with the best, heart stopping find. It was one of those items that you kind of remember sell for a  lot of money but haven't ever seen on in person.

Antique Vintage 1930's Brown's Beach Cloth WORK Vest Salt & Pepper
I listed this starting at $500.00 buy it now or best offer. One very similar had just for for $500.00. I got lots of offers but not to my liking. I relisted it and again lots of offers and interest but not quite right. I ended up taking $325.00 for it.
I also started looking for sports uniforms and concert t-shirts. That was never on my list to look to items. Mainly because there are too much competition in my area for those items. I have found a few in the past and have done well with them. Now I keep an eye out. I found these two vintage 1980's Starter pulovers.

Sold them both the first night for $29.99 each

Sold immediately for $62.50

Sold for $55.99

My HONEYHOLE

I haven't even thought about posting on my blog in about a year. I have changed much of my selling structure and even the items I am buying to sell. I used to mainly sell vintage clothing but sales were terrible last year. So I had to find new things to buy and a different way to sell. So I branched out. I started buying storage units, newer items, toys, etc. I also started selling on Facebook garage sale pages. But this post will be about my new honeyhole. I will not say where this amazing new store is but it has been a great location. Over the past six months or so, I have been going there a few times a week. You never know what you are going to find. Here are some of my favorite and best finds as of now.

Howdy All

Well, I didn't die or get stuck in a well. I just haven't been doing much. Ebay has been terrible for about a year and I have moved most of my selling to Etsy. You can find me at Oliveyouvintage https://www.etsy.com/shop/oliveyouvintage - my shop for vintage clothing. Or EndandOdd for my other unique vintage items and collectibles. https://www.etsy.com/shop/endandodd
I will catch everyone up on the little stuff later but I would like to tell you about my recent find. As of middle of March 2015, I haven't been to any auctions and only one estate sale. I finally set my sites on a Kiko onsite Auction on 3/28/2015. The former owner Tom Olszeski was the Northeast Ohio's Ronald McDonald from 1960 - 2000's. Mr. Olszeski was also a party clown named Clowno the Magic Clown. I obtained most of the magic collection - including what might be a magic saw in half box. (I haven't put it together yet). I spend a few days going through all that I won at the auction.

It has filled most of my great room. There is too much to even talk about. I will just show you some close ups to make you cry.

I actually bought this off another dealer. It is Clowno's handmade magic stand. It comes in three pieces for easy transport. I spied it in the corner and figured out what it is. I think I was the only one to know what it was used for. To the right of the stand is the saw in half box. At least that is what I was told it is. I have yet to put it together.

The cool photoshoot panel of the bunny coming out of the top hat was given to me by another dealer. Isn't it completely awesome.

The weird yellow faux woodgrain tube on the right side of the photo is another magic trick that I am unsure what it is for. It comes in three pieces. It reminds me of the disappearing person trick but is too small for even a child to fit in.
I have yet to figure out where I am going to sell all of these items or how I will sell them. My options are Ebay, Etsy, or Hartville. I also have to figure of if I am selling them in lots or individually.

Hartville Flea Market - Here I come

I already set up at Hartville twice this year (that is crazy for me). I had my Mom to help and we kicked butt. I sold out completely on both days. So it is Friday night and my car is jammed packed with more goodies to sell. My husband and I went to an amazing auction two weeks again and bought so much stuff we had to leave some behind. My house is bursting and my front porch has been filled with priced items ready to go. So I will come back in a few days (hopefully with some pictures) and tell the tale.

Let Them Eat CAKE!!

My daughter had a winter carnvial at school. I decided to donate a homemade cake for the cake walk. I remember the cake walk at my elementary school carnival and it was always fun. I stole the idea off of pinterest for a rainbow layered cake. I used two boxes of cake white cake mix and two containers of icing. I divided up the cake mix into eight bowls and dyes each layer. I was going to do the ROY G BIV but ended up with an extra layer. So I did red, pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

I should have listened to the advice on the recipe and placed the cake in the freezer before icing but was running late. Then this happened...

I ended up using rainbow sprinkles on the top and M&M's on the sides. I even through in the cute melamine plate I found at Marc's. Here is the end result.

My Color Wheel

I am getting ready for Spring and Summer weather. I pulled out my hoard of vintage capris, skinny jeans, shorts, peddle pushers, etc. These all came from the same estate and only one person. There are 109 pairs in total. Insane, right! It will take me some time to sell these as I will probably sell a few pairs at a time. Almost all the colors of the rainbow.

Perfect timing, too. The Gap has an ad right now for more colored skinny pants. How many of mine look like those? Too many!!
