How About A Recovering Sale!!!

Today is all about sundurns, back aches, and upset stomachs. I spent yesterday setting up at a flea market to purge some of my stock. I will tell more about that in the next post.
Today, I am taking it easy. So I thought I'd have a sale to keep my time occupied. So at either of my stores on Etsy, Andvintage or Oliveyouvintage, take 50% off the purchase price on any and everything. Just type in MEMORIAL at checkout.
The sale will only last until midnight tonight Tuesday May 31st. So buy, buy, buy, before it's too late.

I'm On A Roll

Since I got three posts done yesterday, I think I can spit one out today. My afternoon came to a screaching hault when I forgot to change the date to tomorrown when I was printing out shipping labels. I ended up with one package printed to ship on today's date with only five minutes to get to a post office. Well, that didn't happen but luckily I found out another Post Office about 15 minutes away is open until 7:00pm. So, I pushed everyone into the car and off we went.
After that I decided to drive to a locate thrift store (one of my favorites). I ended up finding some cute stuff for super cheap (did I mention is it one of my favorites). Here are some super horrible pics of my finds.

As a bonus, here is a copy of my reciept.

Flowers, Flowers, Flowers

I have been all excited about the bulbs I planted last fall. I have been talking them all up to my Mom everytime I saw something sprout. Well, I was taking the dog out and realized my camera was in my pocket. So here are a few shots I took of the blooming that happened in my yard. I deleted the photos when the dog pulled.
I started with the wisteria which is one of the main reasons I purchased this home. I just fell in love with the amazing vines growing all around the yard.

Here is the 60 year old vine that makes a fabulous canopy over the quarry stone patio.

This is the lonely vine at the corner of our property

This is the amazing and huge hostas that I planted when I first moved in about nine years ago. And the new cute red wooden picnic kids' table I got for only $12.00.

And my new additions are the Rembrant tulips I planted last fall. Unfortunetly it was a dark, rainy Ohio afternoon. But I am happy with my pics. Especially the last one!!!

Quilts, Quilts, Quilts

So at that great estate auction I went to today, I came home with seven handmade quilts. There was about 15 that I didn't get. Of course I did what most people do, came home pissed that I missed out on those 15, excited about what I did get, then bummed they were in worse shape than I thought. That leads to the panic, "How am I going to get my money back?". Then I took some pics to send to my Mom ( the Quilt Queen). Now I don't feel so bad but still a little worried.
Here is a few bad shots -

The Bear Claw

Yellow Double Wedding Ring

Purple Album Cross

Pink Album Cross

Patriotic Pinwheel Quilt Top

Earth Toned Log Cabin

I've saved my first and favorite buy of the day for last -
The amazing embroidered CRAZY quilt

New Post, New Post, New Post

Somehow in one day I am going to have three things to post about. Here is the first for the day.
Let me explain, no time, let me sum up. ( imagine this with a Spanish accent). Sorry, I'm back from my memory trip to The Princess Bride.
Today, I went to an auction with my three year old. I got some good antique quilts but that will be the next post. I bought a great cubby unit. I keep seeing these on other blogs and have been waiting to get my hands and long lost artistic brain on one. It needs a lot of work but I'm ready for the challenge.
At the current moment, it looks like this.........

I am thinking of painting it offwhite and scraping off some of it to let that seafoam green pop through. As for the horrible kids fingerprint polkadot stripes on every shelf, I think I should be able to cover it with a black stripe.
We'll see. I don't have much $$$ into it. And I don't think it could look worse. If the weather will break, I'll start working on it.
